Technical qualification & repeat orders

Technical approval. Initial business. Repeat orders.

I developed a Swedish customer account into €1.8 million in total orders. The work combined commercial negotiation with technical qualification: mounting compatibility, snow loads, connectors, cable requirements and the documentation needed for the customer to buy.

The assignment

An attractive price was only the start. The buyer needed product, mounting and documentation requirements resolved before it could commit to a new supplier.

My role

I coordinated the customer’s requirements with Astronergy’s technical colleagues, sales operations, order management and accounting, then stayed involved through shipment and further purchasing discussions.

The work behind the business

Explore the stages and original correspondence.

01/January–February 2023

I established what the customer needed before it could buy.

The customer was interested in the pricing but required installation manuals, mounting compatibility information, certifications and supplier documentation. I supplied the requested material and clarified the relevant module options.

I then worked through the intended mounting arrangement and snow-load requirements with the buyer and technical colleagues.

Result

A concrete qualification process covering the buyer’s technical and purchasing requirements.

02/February–March 2023

I coordinated the technical clarification needed to proceed.

I clarified mounting positions and load requirements, obtained technical responses and supplied a compatibility letter with updated load values. The customer’s requirements shaped the product and supporting documentation.

The customer returned the signed purchase order on 27 March. I passed it internally for order confirmation and invoicing.

Result

Technical qualification progressed to an initial signed order of approximately 4.34 MW.

03/March–July 2023

I followed the order through the internal and customer steps.

I coordinated order confirmation, deposit documentation and the production and shipment updates. I stayed in contact about the timing of each batch and the receiving arrangements.

I pursued balance payments and communicated receipt so the company could proceed with delivery. On 10 July I confirmed payment for the second shipment and advised that delivery would now be initiated.

Result

Active coordination across technical, commercial, accounting and delivery requirements.

04/November 2023–2024

The relationship continued into another order and installed projects.

The customer returned a further signed purchase order in November. I worked through the required connectors, cable length and corrected container quantity, then coordinated the subsequent documentation.

In May 2024, the procurement manager reported visiting a 2.3 MW project being installed with the modules purchased from us the previous year. We also met again at Intersolar.

Result

Repeat purchasing and continued customer engagement within a €1.8m account.

About the figures and correspondence

€1.8 million is the total account order value confirmed by Zach. The supplied correspondence covers part of the trading history, including an initial approximately 4.34 MW order and a later signed order. It records payment receipts for specific stages; the headline describes orders, not an assertion that the full account total was collected. The 2.3 MW project is reported by the customer in May 2024.

Selected excerpts illustrate the work. Customer and colleague identities, contact details and selected commercial terms are omitted. The case forms part of Zach Kallergis’s wider renewable energy and technology experience.
